We made the St Paul Pioneer Press!
As many of you may know from following Grey Cloud Studio or Paul Lampland in Social Media, you would have seen my story published in the St. Paul Pioneer Press newspaper this August 2015. This was a result of my engagement with local entrepreneurs as an organizer for 1 Million Cups.
1 Million Cups is a community for Start-ups or anyone interested in jump starting a business. It was started by the Kaufmann Foundation in Kansas City, Mo and happens in 70 + cities all over the United States, thus 1 Million Cups shared in our meetings every week. I have been an organizer since Sept 2014 and I love every part of assisting others to pave the way in a challenging space.
Ever thought of starting your own idea? Not sure how to stay focused and positive? Where can you go to find the answers to all of your questions?
Our meeting takes place at a beautiful old venue, formerly recognized as the go-to resource for business research, the James J. Hill reference library, in downtown Saint Paul, MN. It was started by one of the greatest entrepreneurs known. Built in 1912 from the legacy of J.J. Hill as a public place for others to learn about business.
1 Million Cups is a place for ideas and entrepreneurs to practice a pitch on their early launched venture, during struggles prior to three years. This is where after a six minute intro they can receive constructive criticism from a friendly audience of those who have gone before them.
The Pioneer Press runs stories on those who pitch in the business section of the Sunday newspaper. Take a look at the article and see what you think. Always looking for feedback.
